Channels

The channel with a 100% open rate

The highest-response channel for reaching executives in 2026 was invented before the telephone: physical mail. Not postcards — a dimensional piece, something with weight, sent to a small list of named executives and referencing something true about their business.

The math is attention math. An executive receives roughly 150 emails a day and dozens of LinkedIn messages. They receive perhaps two interesting physical packages a year. One of these channels has no spam filter, no preview pane, and a functionally 100% open rate.

The economics only work because the list is small. Twenty-five accounts you actually want, researched properly, beat twenty-five thousand scraped contacts in every metric that matters. Cost per touch is high; cost per meeting is not.

Sequencing does the real work. The package lands Monday. The email that references it lands Thursday. That email is not cold anymore — it is a continuation of something memorable, and reply rates behave accordingly. The mail is the icebreaker; the email is the ask.

Old channels do not die. They get cheap while everyone crowds the new ones. A coordinated mail-plus-email motion is one of the clearest arbitrage opportunities in B2B marketing right now — precisely because almost nobody staffs it.
